Here are a few summaries of the various domain name registries to help you select the best one when registering a domain.

Domain Name Registar: Tucows/OpenSRS –

Excellent interface, with good service.  Though the price may be a little bit higher than most bargain domain registrars, Dallas Domains recommends this service, and we are alos a Tucows reseller.  

Domain Name Registar: Go Daddy

For bargain domain name registration, Go Daddy is the number one choice.  At a standard rate of $8.95 per domain per year (.com/.net/.org), GoDaddy offers more features and more support than any other registrar.  Includes free domain pointing, and easy-to-use interface.  Perhaps the most important of all features is that there is a support telephone line staffed by knowledgeable individuals, which is extremely important if you run into a problem, or are new to registering domain names. Only downside is that Go Daddy tries to upsell on a variety of unnecessary services, but it is still tolerable with the excellent price point and service.

Domain Name Registar: Network Solutions

NetSol is the keeper of all .com and .net domains names, and receives $6.00 for every domain name registered through *any* registrar. NetSol is famous for its mismanagement of the registry and relatively high priced domain service.  The price currently costs $29.95 for year.

These are just a few of many domain name registration companies on the web.  Dallas Domains recommends that your shop around for the best price and service level to suit your needs.  If you are registraing multiple names, you may want to register each one with a different domain registrar that suits you the best.
